A charter dated 22 Mar 865 which records a judgment in the court of "Salamon comes in castrum Sancti Stephani" in favour of the abbey of Lagrasse recites prior donations by "Sunicfredo comiti…cum uxore Ermesinda". "Ermessinda comitissa et Rodulfo comite et Mirone comite et Quixilo comitissa" made donations by charter dated 1 Dec 885, which is assumed to refer to Ermesende, widow of Sunifred, two of her children, and the wife of the second son, although this is not without doubt. ¹
