Named in his mother's will 1551.
Esquire of the Body to Henry VIII, knighted at the Battle of Spurs, Vice-Admiral of the West to Henry VIII. This was the celebrated "Jack of Tilbury" or "Jack for the King". Died aged 67 years.

John married Julia(na) Erisey, daughter of James Erisey and Margaret Durant. (Julia(na) Erisey died on 12 Mar 1566-1567 and was buried in Paul, Cornwall.)
