At the time of the 1871 England Census David Richardson, age 52, born in Alciston, farm bailiff, and [2nd] wife Elizabeth, age 46, born in Laughton, were living in Falmer Sussex. With them were David's daughter Mercy Levett (21) of Alciston, widow, domestic servant, and grandson William Levett (2) of Wilmington.
At the time of the 1881 England Census David Richardson, age 62, born in Alciston, farm bailiff, and wife Elizabeth M, age 55, born in Laughton, were living in Falmer Village, Falmer Sussex. Present was grandson William Levett (12) of Wilmington, grocer's porter.
