[The necrology of Longueville records the death 13 May of “domina Hermengauda comitissa condam hujus loci” and her confirmation of the donation made by “illos de Saukervilla” of “molendino de Longa Villa”. It is not certain whether this entry refers to the wife of Gauthier Giffard or to the wife of his son Walter Giffard.] 1

Ermengarde married Gauthier Giffard, Earl of Buckingham, Lord of Longueville, son of Osbern de Bolbec, seigneur de Longueville and Aveline d' Arques. (Gauthier Giffard was born in 990 in Brimfield, Gloucestershire, England and died before 1085.)
