Mathilde de Vernon
- Born: Shipbrook, Northwich, Cheshire, England
- Married: 1146
Research Notes:
Henry II King of England confirmed the property of the abbey of Blanchelande, including donations by "…Ricardus de Haya et Matildis uxor eius, predicte ecclesie fundatores, et Radulfus de Haya Ricardi nepos, et Willelmus de Vernone et Ricardus eius filius…" by charter dated 1157. This charter does not specify that Richard’s wife was the daughter of Guillaume de Vernon but this appears to be a likely possibility. Henry II King of England confirmed the possessions of the abbey of Lessai, including donations by "Ricardus de Haia et Matildis uxor sua", by charter dated [1185/Jan 1188]. 1
