Richlind von Sachsen
- Married: Abt 968
- Died: After 1 Nov 1007
Research Notes:
The Historia Welforum names "filia Ottonis magnis imperatoris…Richlint" as wife of "Couno comes". "Otto…imperator augustus" granted property by the spurious charter dated 13 Jan 965 to the church of Oehningen, built according to the document by "domnus Chono comes de Oningen" with the consent of "uxoris sui Richlinde…". She may be "domna Rilint" from whom "Heinricus…rex" acquired property "in Halla in pago Salzburcgouui in comitatu Thiemonis comitis", which he donated to the bishopric of Bamberg by charter dated 1 Nov 1007. Jackman identifies her as daughter of Liudolf [of Saxony] Duke of Swabia, son of Emperor Otto I, but the question is not without controversy. In view of the clear statement in the Historia Welforum and the spurious charter, it has been decided to show her here as the child of Emperor Otto I despite the unreliability of these sources, but in square brackets to indicate doubt. If this is correct, she must presumably have been the child of the emperor's second marriage, unless she was illegitimate. 1
