In 1851 Samuel Griffith, aged 26, born in Cheltenham, curate of parish Westerleigh, and wife Mary Ann, aged 24, born in Birmingham, were living in Rodford, Westerleigh Gloucestershire. With them was daughter Mary Grace (2) of Leeds.
In 1861 Saml. Y. N. Griffith, aged 36, born in Cheltenham Gloucestersh., curate of the parish, and wife Mary A., aged 34, born in Birmingham Warwicksh., were living in Paradise Sq., Oxford St. Ebbe, Oxfordshire. With them were daughter Mary G. (12) of Leeds Yorksh., scholar, and son Cyril C. (1) of Westerleigh Gloucestersh.
In 1871 Samuel Griffith, aged 46, born in Cheltenham Gloucester, vicar of Nth Hinksey, and wife Mary A (43) of Birmingham Warwick, were living at the Vicarage, North Hinksey Berkshire. With them were children Mary G (22) of Leeds Yorkshire, Cecil C (11) of Westerleigh Gloucester, Clement W. H. (9) of Oxford, and nephew Manford F Campbell (20) of Kingsdon? Kent, pupil.
In 1881 Samuel Y N Griffith, aged 56, born in Cheltenham Gloucestershire, vicar of Cumnore, and wife Marian, aged 54, born in Birmingham Warwickshire, were living at the Vicarage, Cumnor Berkshire. Present were sons Cyril (21) and Clement (17).
In 1891 Samuel Y N Griffith, aged 66, born in Cheltenham Gloucestershire, vicar of Cumnore, and wife Mary A., aged 64, born in Birmingham Warwickshire, were living at the Vicarage, Cumnor Berkshire. Present was son Cyril (30) of Westerleigh Gloucestershire.
In 1901 Samuel Y N Griffith, aged 76, born in Cheltenham Gloucestershire, clergyman, C. E., and wife Mary Anne, aged 74, born in Birmingham Warwicks., were living at the Vicarage, Cumnor Berkshire. With them was son Cyril C (38), living on own means.

AGED CLERGYMAN DIES AT HIS STUDY FIRE.
The Rev. Samuel Young Naylor Griffith, vicar of Cumnor, near Oxford, one of the oldest incumbents in Oxford Diocese, died suddenly in his chair this morning while reading by the study fire. Deceased, who was 78 years of age, took a great interest in elucidating the ancient history and traditions of Cumnor, made famous in Scott's "Kenilworth."
