In November 1854 W. H. Tanner was present at the marriage of his sister Eugenia Tanner to Thomas Henly King in Yatesbury Wilts.

In 1861 William H Tanner, aged 28, born in Yatesbury Wilts, unmarried, farmer of 1400 acres employing 25 men and 10 boys, was living in Rockley, Ogbourne St. Andrews Wilts.

In February 1865 William Henry Tanner of Rockley in the parish of Ogbourne St. Andrew, esq. was co-executor of the Will of his late brother John Tanner of Yatesbury, esq.

In 1871 William H Tanner, aged 38, born in Yatesbury Wilts, landowner & occupier farming 1400 acres employing 22 men, 4 women and 10 boys under 20 years, and wife Jane, aged 34, born in Heale Wilts, were living in Rockley House, Ogbourne St. Andrew Wilts.
