In 1901 Nicholas Trethowan, aged 43, born in Camborne, agent for safety fuse co., and wife Elizabeth J. Trethowan, aged 48, born in Camborne, were living in Tolgarrick Rd., Illogan, Cornwall. With them were children (born in Camborne) Hedley H. (10) and Hilda M. (8). Boarding was (Elizabeth's nephew) Richard Banfield (31) of Camborne, tin miner.

LOCAL PREACHER FOR OVER 60 YEARS

The death occurred at Tolgarrick-road, Tuckingmill, on Friday, of Mr. Nicholas Trethowan, in his 85th year. Deceased was associated with Tuckingmill Methodist Church, and was appointed a local preacher in 1878, and up to a few years ago he took appointments regularly. For over 50 years he was employed at Messrs. Bickford Smith's Works, retiring a few years ago. He leaves one son, Mr. Hedley Trethowan, a former Rugby forward for Camborne, and one daughter, Mrs. Wallace.
