In 1851 Jane Carah, aged 28, born in Phillack Cornwall, and husband John Carah, aged 30, born in Camborne Cornwall, miner, were living in Pendarves Fields, Camborne. With them was son John H. Carah (4) of Camborne.
At the time of the 1860 U.S. Federal Census, Jane Carah, aged 37, born in England, and husband John Carah, aged 39, born in England, were living in Rockaway Township, Morris, New Jersey. With them were children John H. (13) of England, Elizabeth J. (8) of England, Joseph (3) of New Jersey and William (1) of New Jersey.
In 1870 Jane Carah, aged 46, born in England, keeping house, and husband John Carah, aged 47, born in England, retired merchant, were living in Hancock, Houghton, Michigan. With them were children Elizabeth (18) of England, Joseph (13) of New Jersey, and William G. (11) of New Jersey.
