In 1871, Mary J. Cory (23) of Crowan, miners wife, and husband Thomas Thomas (23) of Crowan, were living in Tremayne, Crowan. Present were daughter Mary A. Cory (5w) of Crowan, and [Thomas's mother-in-law] Mary Thomas (55) of Gwennap [sic], widowed miner's wife

In 1881, Mary Jane [sic] Sims (34) of Crowan, farmer's wife, and husband John Sims (49) of Crowan, farmer of 11 acres, were living in a private house in Horsedowns, Crowan.

In 1891, Mary J. Sims (44) of Crowan and husband John Sims (54) of Crowan, farmer, were living in Horse Downs, Crowan. Present were children (born in Crowan): Mary (8), Annie (6), John (3), and [Mary's] daughter Bessie Corey (17) - called John Sim's stepdaughter.
