Contrary to The Visitations, Nicholas was the third not second son.

In 1653 Nicholas Kempe was co-executor of his mother's will.

In 1664 Nicholas Kempe of Gerrans paid tax on 4 hearths.

In 1698 Nicholas Kempe was co-executor and a residuary legatee of the will of his late brother Anthony Kempe of Helston.
