In 1653 Anthony Kempe was co-executor and a residuary legatee of his mother's will.

Abstract of the Will of Anthony Kempe of the Borough of Helston in the County of Cornwall, Merchant, written 15 Sep 1696, proved 20 Jul 1698. 2
Gives to his kinsman* Nicholas Kempe of Rosteague and his heirs his fee lands in Helston, along with a lease of land and tenements purchased of Mr. Arthur Spy.
Gives to his kinswoman* Wilmett the wife of John James, their son John and daughter Mary, certain leases and lands along with a close of land called Townsend, a meadow called Downe meadow, willing they pay out of the proceeds thereof an annuity of 40 shillings to the said Nicholas Kempe. He also gives Wilmett his silver bowl.
Gives 10 shillings to his brother James Kempe.
Gives 10 shillings to his sister Anne Hawke.
Gives 10 shillings to his sister Susan Hobbs.
Gives £15 to his sister Rebecca Webber.
Gives £5 to Anthony the son of John Williams of Helston.
Gives £5 to Zacharias Williams the elder of Helston.
Directs that the said Nicholas Kempe pays an annuity of 12 shillings to the poor of Helston, to be paid out of the profits of the garden or meadow in Meneage Street currently held by Peter Tallack.
All the rest of his goods & chattels he gives to his brother Nicholas Kempe and to his kinswoman Wilmett James, appointing them co-executors of his last will and testament.
