In 1841 Thomas Marks, aged about 69, born in the county, labourer, and wife Sarah, aged about 68, were living in Church Town, Phillack.
In 1851 Thomas Marks, aged 80, born in Gwithian Cornwall, widower, retired copper miner, was living in Penpull Terrace, Phillack, Cornwall. With him were daughter Sarah Marks (42) of Gwithian, unmarried, laundress, daughter Elizth. Knowles (36) of Gwithian, widow, grandchildren (born in Gwithian) Elizth. Knowles (12), laundress, Richard Knowles (11), scholar, Sarah Knowles (10), scholar, and Thomas' brother Robert Marks (77) of Gwithian, unmarried, retired farm labourer.
