DEATH OF MRS. SUSAN ROGERS, OF ILLOGAN HIGHWAY.
Early on Tuesday morning, 12th inst., Mrs. Susan Rogers, of Chili Terrace, Illogan Highway, widow of the late Capt. Matthew Rogers, formerly of Wheal Uny Mine, succumbed after a brief illness. Deceased was in fairly good health up to within a few days of her death. She was 84 years of age, and for over 60 years was a member of the Illogan Highway United Methodist Church, where she was held in the highest esteem by members of the Society and congregation. Being of a kindly and genial disposition her death will be regretted by all who knew her.
The interment took place on Saturday last at Illogan amidst every manifestation of sorrow, when the service was conducted by the Rev. Harry Oxland. Amongst the mourners were:—Misses E. and M. J. Rogers (daughters), Mr. Willie Rogers, London (grandson), Mr. Samuel L. Rogers, of Ballarat, Australia (nephew), Mr. and Mrs. J. Rogers (Broadlane), Mrs. Wearne, Mrs. Carpenter, Mr. J. Gribble (Redruth), Mrs. Gribble (Highway), Messrs. Samuel, Edwin and Jabez Hocking, Mr. Vivian (Camborne), and Mr. James Bray....
