In 1861 Ann Richards Carthew, aged 42, born in Marazion Cornwall, and husband Edward Carthew, aged 43, born in Illogan, mine agent, were living in Carnhell Green, Gwinear, Cornwall. With them were children (born in Illogan) William (17), copper miner, Elizabeth (16), house maid, Robert (14), copper miner, Ellen (13), scholar, Amelia (10), scholar, Lenard (9), scholar, Edward (7), scholar, Ann (6), scholar, Philip (5), scholar, John (3), scholar, and Thomas (2).
In 1871 Ann Prichard Carthew, aged 52, born in Marazion Cornwall, and husband Edward Carthew, aged 53, born in Illogan Cornwall, labourer, were living at 1 Villiers St., St. John, Swansea, Glamorgan, Wales. With them were children (born in Illogan) Leonard Millett (19), Edward junr. (18), labourer, Philip Richard (15), in office silver works, John (13), errand boy in shop, Ellen (23), domestic servant, Annie Rickard (16), Thomas Millett (12) of Gwinear, scholar, and Eliza (7) of Gwinear, scholar.
In 1881 Ann Carthew, aged 62, born in Marazion, and husband Edward Carthew, aged 63, born in Illogan, labourer in steel works, were living at 98 Pentre Eystell, St. John near Swansea, Glamorgan. Present were children (born in Gwinear Cornwall) Thomas (22), watchman at steel works, and Eliza (17), dress maker.
In 1891 Ann Richards Carthew, aged 72, born in Marazion, and husband Edward Carthew, aged 73, born in Illogan, retired mining captain, were staying with their daughter Liley* Morcom and her family at 66 Clare Rd., St. Mary, Cardiff, Glamorgan.
