In 1891 Emily J. Trenberth, aged 19, born in Dulwich Surrey, apprentice bookbinder, was with her parents at 33 Conybrare Rd., Canton, Glamorgan.

In 1901 Emily Dancer, aged 26*, born in London, and husband Thomas Dancer, aged 25, born in London, hotel manager, were living at 183 Bute Street, Cardiff St. Mary, Glamorgan. With them were children Winifred (4) of Llanishen Glamorgan, Thomas (3) of Llanishen, William (1) of Cardiff, and Catherine (6 mo) of Cardiff.

In 1911 Emily Jane Dancer, aged 36*, born in London, mother of 6 children, assisting in the business, and husband of 16 years Thomas Louis Dancer, aged 36, born in London, licensed victualler (own account), were living at Crown Stoke, Bute St., Cardiff. With them were children Winifred (15), school, Thomas (13), school, William (12), school, Catherine (10), school, Mildred (9), school, and Emily (8), school.

In 1921 Emily Dancer, aged 46* years 7 months, born in London, licensed victualler, and husband Thomas Louis Dancer, aged 46 years 2 months, born on London, licensed victualler, were at 31 The Hayes, Cardiff. With them were children Winifred (25y 1m), barmaid, William (22y 1m), article clerk, Catherine (21), barmaid, Mildred (20), short hand typist, and Emily (18), barmaid.

In the 1939 Register Emily J Dancer (b. 26 Aug 1874*), licensed victualler (proprietor), and husband Thomas L. Dancer (b. 16 Apr 1875), licensed victualler (proprietor), were at the British Volunteer Hotel, The Hayes, Cardiff. At the same address was (daughter) Mildred A. Dancer (b. 2 Sep 1901), single, secretary.

* Emily's age is consistently understated by three-to-four years from the day of her marriage. Birth registered in 1871.

In June 1946 Emily Jane Dancer, widow, was granted Probate of her late husband's personal estate.
