In 1841 Richard Blewit, aged about 25, born in the county, copper miner, and wife Elizabeth Blewit, aged about 30, born in the county, were living in Trelowarren St., Camborne, Cornwall. With them were sons Charles (3) and Richard (1).

Richard and Elizabeth do not appear in the British Censuses after 1841. Like the families of Richard's brother Henry and sister Mary, they moved to America. On 29 May 1848, Richard (33), miner, his wife Elizabeth (35) and children Charles (8), Richard (6), Elizabeth Jane (4) and Fanny (18 months) arrived in New York per S. S. Roger Sherman. They can be found in the 1850, 1860 and 1870 Censuses for Wisconsin, USA...
