Research Notes:
Does not appear in the U.K. Censuses hereafter. A Gilbert Gurney, b.c.1861, miner, left Liverpool England per the ship "Campania" and arrived in New York, USA on 31 Oct 1896. Curiously, in the 1920 U.S. Federal Census there appears a Gilbert Gurney, b.c.1861 (age 59), married, from England as in inmate in Napa, California. There are no other individuals by the name of Gilbert Gurney, from England and born at this time, found in any of the other U.S. Censuses.
