In May 1836 Matthew Bennett, aged 25, miner, wife Grace Bennett, aged 25, and daughter Emily Bennett, aged 6 months, arrived in New York aboard the ship Royal Adelaide. 3
In 1860 Mathew Bennett, aged 49 born in England, Deputy County Treasurer, and wife Grace Bennett, aged 49, born in England, were living in Mineral Point City, Iowa, Wisconsin. With them were children (born in Wisconsin) William H (21), Alexander G. (19), Trafeinea (17), Hannah (9), Benjamin J. (6).
