In 1881 Mary A. Newton, aged 52, born in St. Day Cornwall, and husband Edward T. Newton, aged 56, born in Camborne, mathematical instrument maker & jeweller, were at 4 Cross St., Camborne. Present were children Mary A. (30) and Edward W. (18), mathematical instrument maker & jeweller.
In 1891 Mary Ann Newton, aged 62, born in Gwennap, and husband Edward T. Newton, aged 66, born in Camborne, mathematical instrument maker, were at 4 Cross St., Camborne. With them was daughter Mary Hannah (38) of Camborne, single.

DEATH AND FUNERAL OF THE LATE MRS. M. A. NEWTON.
With regret we have to record the death of Mrs. M. A. Newton, who passed away on Wednesday, the 21st inst. Deceased, who was 71 years of age, was the wife of Mr. E. T. Newton, mathematical instrument maker, and one of the oldest and most respected inhabitants of Camborne. She was the eldest daughter of the late Mr. William Wilton, of St. Day, who was well-known throughout the county. She had been married for 50 years, and enjoyed very good health up to three months ago, when she was taken ill. Although a great sufferer during those three months she bore the pain with great fortitude, and her end was peaceful. Her medical attendants were Drs. Butlin, of Camborne, and Permewan, of Redruth.
The funeral took place at Centenary chapel on Christmas morning. The Rev. Geo. H. Shafto officiated at the service.
The chief mourners were Mr. E. T. Newton (husband), Mr. E. W. Newton (son), Miss Annie Newton (daughter), Mr. H. V. Newton, Mr. Chas. E. Tyack (Trevu), and Mr. Rd. Hosken (Gwithian).
The staff of the workshop of Messrs. Edward T. Newton and Son were also present.
Among other friends who attended the funeral were Messrs. William Rabling, J.P., Joseph Vivian, Samuel Stephens, Josiah Thomas (Roskear), H. P. Vivian (Pengegon), J. G. Edwards, Richard Jackson, Alfred Dunkin, L. C. W. Reed (station master), and J. Champion....
The remains were interred in the grave of the late Mr. Llewellyn Newton, a native of Camborne, who died at the age of 95 after having been connected with the Wesleyan society for 70 years....
