William Porter Hancock was the son of Joseph S. Hancock and Francis Lorine Loomis. He married Anna Edith Rhodes on November 19, 1900 at Cook Co., Illinois. They had two children: Wallace Laverne & Raymond Harold, the boys took their step-father's (Jesse Ross) last name after Anna and William were divorced in 1907.
William then married Myrtle Harding Rolfe on April 19, 1912 in Essex, Ontario, Canada. They divorced.
He married Beatrice R. Heilner on November 21, 1925 in Sandusky, Erie Co., Ohio. They had one son, William Porter Hancock Jr. 5
