Martha's age is understated in the census records after her marriage.
In 1911 Martha Tonkin, aged 32, born in Tuckingmill Cornwall (mother of 1 child) and husband of 5 years Henry Tonkin, aged 28, born in Hayle Cornwall, rock-drill fitter, were living at 48 Hughville St., Camborne. With them was son Donald (4) of Tuckingmill.
In 1921 Martha Tonkin, aged 43 years 1 month, born in Tuckingmill, and husband Henry Tonkin, aged 39 years 4 months, born in Hayle, turner, rock drill manufacturers, were living in Union St, Camborne. With them were children Donald Tonkin (14y 8m) of Tuckingmill, and Florence Mary Tonkin (5y 5m) of Camborne.

Mrs. H. Tonkin, Camborne
The funeral took place at Camborne Church, on Monday, of Mrs. Martha Tonkin, aged 74, of 29, Cross-street, Camborne, who died at her home, on Friday. The Rector, the Rev. G. F. Sandfield, officiated. Born at Tuckingmill, Mrs. Tonkin went to live at Camborne about 50 years ago. Her father, the late J. P. Tonkin*, was for many years foreman at the old Tuckingmill foundry. Besides the widower, Messrs. D. Tonkin (son), W. B. Coules (also rep. Mr. H. P. Tenby, nephew), F. Turner, F. Burnard, A. Franklyn Pool, also rep. Mr. T. A. Pool (nephews), W. R. Richards (son-in-law), D. Blight, C. Dell, and H. W. Ride....
