"William Barkell, 65, of Hancock died on November 23, 1998 following a brief illness. Mr. Barkell was first employed by the Calumet & Hecla Mining Company for 16 years. He was employed by D & N Bank for 20 years, and by Herman Gundlach for three years. He is survived by his wife Peggy; a son, Thom of Marquette; two daughters, Ann of Iron River and Sarah at home. Interment in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Lake Linden." 2
