"Enid E. Burke, 94 of Shullsburg, passed away April 12, 2009 at Mineral Point Care Center in Mineral Point.
She was born April 8, 1915 in Hazel Green, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (White) Rector. Enid lived in Hazel Green until she moved to Shullsburg in 1928. She was united in marriage to Omer Burke on Nov. 20, 1934 at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Shullsburg. Enid worked at Micro Switch in Warren, Ill., for 15 years, retiring in 1980. In 1996 she moved to Mineral Point Care Center where she has resided since.
Enid is survived by one son, Tom (Edith) Burke, McHenry, Ill.; three daughters: Kathleen Runde, Richfield; Ida (Terry) Vosberg, Sr., Stoughton; Mary Jo (Donald) Mietus, Eagle River; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Richard Rector of Minneapolis, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Omer, in 1974; one son, John, in 1990; one daughter, Lois Jarrett, in 1998; five brothers: William, Francis, Keith, Charles and Joseph; three sisters: Lillian Walrath, Mildred MacNaughton and Miriam MacAloon; and two grandchildren, Wayne Allen and Timothy David Redfearn...." 3
