Mr. Diers worked for the Dubuque Community School District until his retirement.
He was born on May 23, 1911, in Galena, Ill., son of Christian and Maude (Eustice) Diers. He married Dorothy Garrett in 1929, at Grace Episcopal Church, Galena; she died in 1981.
He was an avid gardener and fisherman. He was a member of the Pro Bass Field Testers Club and the Rifleman's Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Shirley Bersley, of Dubuque; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren...." 2
