In the name of God Amen The Tenth day of January Anno Dni 1666 I John Bisshe Citizen and Marchantaylor of London being of sound and perfect minde and memory praise bee therefore given to Almighty God etc... Doe therefore make and Declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following That is to say:
First and principally I Comend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God etc... and my Body I remite? to the Earth to bee decently buried either at Worth or where my Executrix shall think fitt and touching such goods Chatels Land moneys debts and Estate whatsoever etc... I dispose thereof as followeth:
Item. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Katherine the Tenement and parcell of Land known and called by the name of Homewood Close lyeinge in Worth now in the occupacion of John Cresy. And likewise I Doe give her more the summe of One hundred and Fifty pounds To bee paid her at the age of One and Twenty yeares and in the mean tyme to bee put forth for the best advantage of my said Daughter and for her maintenance till such Age.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth Three hundred pounds to bee paid her at the age of One and Twenty yeares and in the mean tyme to bee put forth for the best advantage of the said Elizabeth and for her maintenance till such age.
Item. I give and bequeath unto the Child that my wife is with Child of the summe of Three hundred pounds to bee paid unto it at the Age of One and Twenty yeares and in the mean tyme to bee put forth for the best advantage of the said Child and for its maintenance till such Age.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my Sister Taylor and to my Sister Nicholas and to my Sister Kath[erine] Tenn pounds a peice for Mourneing.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my partner John Page Fifteene pounds for Mourneing.
Item. I give to my Maid Katherine Five pounds.
Item. I give to the poore of the Parish of Worth in Sussex Tenn pounds.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my God Daughter Anne Nicholas Twenty pounds to bee paid her at the Age of One and Twenty yeares or Day of marriage which shall first happen.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my Neice Sara Taylor Tenn pounds to bee paid her at the Age of One and Twenty yeares or her Day of marriage which shall first happen.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my Apprentice William Head the summe of Fower pounds and my will and meaneing is shall bee for the Disposall of him to another Master and my Executrix hereafter named shalbe thereby and therewith . . . . . . . discharged of and from all other Costs and Charges whatsoever for about and concerning my said Apprentice.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my Brother Mr Roger Bisshe Twenty pounds for Mourneing and to my Co: Mr Henry Hampson . . . . . . . of London Tenn pounds for Mourneing my two Overseers hereafter named.
All the rest and residue of my Chatels moneys Debts and Estate whatsoever I Doe give and bequeath unto my Loveing wife Martha Bisshe whome I doe hereby make ordeyne and appoint sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and I doe hereby Desire and appoint the aforesaid Roger Bisshe and Henry Hamspon to bee Overseers of this my last Will and Testament.
In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and Seale Dated the Day and yeare first above written.
