Research conducted by Colin Paul has uncovered an error in the Vivian pedigree as recorded in the Visitation of the County of Cornwall, which shows Roger Vivian as sixth son of Hannibal Vyvyan of Trelowarren. 4 Roger Vivian who married Ellen Bennett in Camborne in 1623 was not the same individual.

Colin Paul notes that Tolgarrick Farm was held by the Vivian family for over 250 years. Francis Vivian, Agent to the foundry at Tuckingmill, was living there at the time of the 1841, 1851 and 1861 Censuses for Camborne.
