NEW POTATOES.—Mr. Oliver Willey, of Ruan Minor, grocer and draper, furnished the tenantry of C. H. T. Hawkins, Esq., at a court held at Cadgwith, on Tuesday last, with some early potatoes, which he dug from his own garden. They were perfectly free from disease. His potato crop has a very promising appearance, and it is his intention shortly to exhibit some for sale, at the public market.—Through his unwearied attention, his garden is in a high state of cultivation. The vegetables are in such a flourishing state as to gain the admiration of the passers by. His early cabbages measure about 3½ feet in circumference, surpassing all others in the neighbourhood....

---------------------------

SUDDEN DEATH AT RUAN MINOR, NEAR THE LIZARD.—An inquest was held at the Red Lion, Ruan Minor, on Saturday last, before Mr. J. Roscorla, county coroner, touching the death of Oliver Willey, aged 69 years. From the evidence of John Hamlyn, it appears that the deceased was a very healthy man, and that the last time he saw him alive was on Thursday evening last, a few minutes before his death, when he was in his own house sitting in a chair, quite insensible; his mouth was open, but his eyes were closed. He was a labouring man, and lived with his wife upon very good terms.—John Willey deposed that his father had been a very healthy man, and only within the last two months had been attended by a medical man. He had been married four times, and the present wife was his fourth one, and he lived on very good terms with her.—The jury, after a short consultation, returned a verdict that the deceased had died suddenly, and from natural causes.
