In 1841 James Paynter, aged about 55, born in the county, farmer, and wife Milicent Paynter, aged about 40, born in the county, were living in Penhale, St. Breock, Cornwall. With them were children: James (6), Milicent (14), Jane (12), Ann (10) and Catherine (8).
In 1851 James Paynter, aged 67, born in St. Breock Cornwall, farmer of 75 acres employing 2 labourers, and wife Milicent Paynter, aged 50, born in St. Breock, were living in Penhale, St. Breock. With them were children (born in St. Breock) Milicent (24), Ann (20), Catherine (18) and James (16).
