LATE MRS. HOCKING, CAMBORNE
The death took place at Adelaide-street, Camborne, on Thursday, of Mrs. Susan Ann Hocking, aged 77, widow of the late Tobias Hocking, who died 32 years ago. Deceased, who was ill only three weeks, was the oldest member of Centenary Wesleyan Society. She leaves five children—Mrs. N. Pascoe (Penzance), Mrs. Edwards (Camborne), Miss L. Hocking (Westgate), and Messrs. Tobias and Edward Hocking, in U.S.A.
The funeral took place at Centenary Wesleyan Church on Monday, when the Rev. W. W. Corin (superintendent minister) officiated, and Mr. A. E. Trezise, who was at the organ, rendered "O, rest in the Lord" and "The Dead March." Deceased's favourite hymns were sung. Representatives of the Centenary Wesleyan Society acted as bearers.
The relatives and friends present were Messrs. Leslie Pascoe and Percy Hocking (grandsons), Nicholas Pascoe, Penzance (son-in-law), James Vague, J. Sleeman (representing T. C. Quintrell), S. J. Liddicoat, W. Pooley, J. M. Martin, J. White, R. Kneebone, J. Quick, J. Osborne, W. Brokenshire, J. Hart, W. C. Nicholls, W. H. Plint, and Commandant Towell (representing the Salvation Army)....
