He resided in Washington County, Vermont prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on March 19, 1941, prior to the war, in Rutland, Vermont. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Office machine operator and also as Single, without dependents.

He was married after his enlistment.

Arthur died in the "Line Of Duty" of a non-battle related incident during the war. ²
