Anne JAMES

  • Born: 1775, Camborne, Cornwall
  • Christened: 21 Mar 1776, Camborne, Cornwall 2
  • Married: 24 Dec 1802, Camborne, Cornwall 1
  • Died: 1861-1862, Camborne, Cornwall

   Research Notes:

Called daughter of Benjamin and Eleanor in the christening record.

---------------------------

Note: Another Richard Rule, miner, married another Anne James 11 Nov 1799 in Camborne, witnesses: William Hocking, Henry Stephens.

This couple had a son Richard, chr. 28 Sep 1800, who was bur. 19 Sep 1802, and possibly another Richard christened in February the following year, although he may have been son of the Richard and Anne who were married in 1802.

Presumably the Anne James (who married Richard Rule in 1799) was christened in 1773, base daughter of Margaret. However, the Anne James who married Richard Rule in 1802 had a daughter Margaret who married John Evans (a witness at the marriage of Henry Davey Rule and Elizabeth Hosking, and whose daughter, Elizabeth Evans, was with Henry and Elizabeth's family in 1841). While Anne's age at the 1841 and 1851 Censuses (65 and 76 respectively) suggests a birth year c. 1775, her age in 1861 was recorded as 87, and hence a birth year closer to c.1774.

---------------------------

In 1841, Ann Rule (65), ind[ependent], was with [her son] Henry Davy Rule and his family in Cross Rowe, Camborne.

In 1851, Ann Rule (76) of Camborne, widow, was visiting with [her daughter] Catherine Bennetts and her family in Centenary St., Camborne.

In 1861, Ann Rule (87) of Camborne, widow, landholder L. P., was with her daughter Catherine Bennett and her family in Camborne.

---------------------------

Ann Rule died during either 4th quarter 1861, 1st quarter 1862 or 2nd quarter 1862.
