Mary married James Smith VIAL, son of James Smith VIAL and Margaret SMITH, on 23 Jul 1888 in Knox Church, Dunedin, New Zealand. (James Smith VIAL was born in 1866 in Gabriel's Gully, Otago, New Zealand and died in 1953 in New Zealand.)

   Marriage Notes:

"VIAL-GILLIES—On the 23rd July, at Knox Church, by the Rev. J. H. Cameron, James Smith, eldest son of James S. Vial, hotelkeeper, Romahapa, to Mary, eldest daughter of David Gillies, Walton Park, Green Island."
