Dorothy was born January 10, 1919 in Plymouth, Pennsylvania to Minnie Nafus Carroll and John C. Carroll and passed away January 21, 2006 in Waxahachie, Texas. Dorothy was a member of Central Presbyterian Church and played piano for the Senior Citizens, and Eastern Star. She had been a member of Friday Book Club and YMCA High Steppers. She loved life, her family and most of all, her children. Dorothy traveled extensively with her husband and lived in Germany for five years and in Formosa, China.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lt. Col. Albert C. Knapp in May 1989. Dorothy moved to Waxahachie in January 1982. She was a homemaker and is survived by her four children; Claire Crabb and husband Tom, Hazel Stumpf and husband Rick both of Waxahachie, Robert Knapp and wife Rosemary, and Mary Ann Neely and husband Michael both of Maryland. Dorothy had ten grandchildren; Debi Mangan, Julie Ramos, Kari Cain, Kristi Wynn, Allison, Molly, and Sarah Knapp, Maxwell, Meredith Claire and Mason Neely. She also is survived by four great grandchildren; Marc Mangan, Angela and Austin Crabb and Sky Wynn and one great great grandson; C.J. Mangan...." 1
