In 1862, a month before her own marriage, Eliza Jane Beckerleg was a witness at the marriage of her sister Nanny to George Old.
In 1871 Eliza James (28) of Camborne and husband John James (30) of St. Columb, inn keeper, were living in Plough Inn, College St., Camborne. Present were children (born in Camborne): Emma (8), scholar, William (6), Anne (1m), domestic servants M. A. Williams* (30) of Camborne, unmarried, and Caroline Williams* (34) of Camborne, married.
* M. A.. was probably Mary Ann Williams, Eliza's cousin (daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Williams), and Caroline was more than likely the wife of her cousin John Williams (brother of Mary Ann).
In 1881 Eliza James (36) of Camborne, married, was living in Railway Bridge, Camborne. Present were children (born in Camborne): Emma (18), dressmaker, William J. (15), carpenter, Albert (9), scholar, George (7), scholar, mother Jane Beckerleg (70) of Camborne, widow.
