Obituary
"JACK BEUGNOT, beloved husband, father and grandfather, 92, died Aug. 29, 2011 at his home in Green Valley.
He was born in Cadillac, Mich. on Aug. 28, 1919, the son of Theodore and Marguerite Beugnot. He attended school in Elberta, Mich., where he met the love of his life, Evelyn (Jewell) Beugnot. They married on Aug. 30, 1940.
Jack served overseas in the U.S. Army during WWII. After the war, he worked as a switchman for the Ann Arbor Railroad for 36 years.
He enjoyed carpentry. He was especially proud of his house on Bellows Ave. in Frankfort, Mich. where he could be found most evenings and weekends putting the finishing touches on the house. He could build whatever he set his mind to and did everything as only a perfectionist could - perfectly.
When he retired, they began to head south during the winter months, eventually settling in Green Valley. He enjoyed long walks in the desert, golfing, hiking, playing cards in addition to visits from family and friends.
Jack is survived by Evelyn, his loving wife of 71 years; daughters: Sally (Ole) Velde of Granite Falls, Minn., Kay (Jim) Bonnell of Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; five grandchildren: Tim (Kim) Velde of Granite Falls, Julie (Brad) Kimball, Tom (Sarah) Velde of Fergus Falls, Minn., Rob (Jessica) Velde of Morris, Minn. and Dana Bonnell of Mt. Pleasant; and 10 great-grandchildren. Jack is also survived by a brother, Bob (Bernice) Beugnot of Elberta.
It was time for Jack to "come to the lakeshore and move on to different seas." We will all miss him, but the legacy of his loving, gentle spirit and the memories we cherish will live on in those who loved him so dearly..." 3
