Abstract of the Will of Humffrey Owen of Bron y clydwr in the Parish of Llanegryn in the County of Merioneth, Gentleman, written 23 Jan 1646/7, proved 21 May 1647. 2
Gives, bequeaths & bestows towards the reparation of the parish church of Llanegryn five shillings.
Gives and bequeaths 20 shillings to be distributed among the poor of the said parish of Llanegryn.
By the right of his late wife Susan Owen now deceased he stands seized of messuages or tenements and lands called Govilion and Bron y clydwr in the township of Llanvendigril in the parish of Llanegryn, a messuage or tenement and lands called Moelmon and Trichiad Issa in the same county, which he gives and devises to his son and heir Hugh Owen and his heirs. And in default of issue, he wills and devises the same to his second son Lewis Owen and his heirs. And in default of such issue he gives and devises the same to his only daughter Jane Owen....
Gives and bequeaths [the rest of] his personal estate to his said daughter Jane Owen.
Constitutes, appoints and ordains his mother-in-law Lowry Owen, widow, late wife of Lewis Owen late of Penniarth deceased, and Katherin Owen his natural mother (grandmother to his said children) Executrices of his last will and testament.
Constitutes and appoints his kinsmen and friends Lewis Owen of Peniarth aforesaid, Esq., Hugh Owen of the same, Gent., Richard Herbert of Lloynyerw------- in county Cardigan, Gent. and Edward Lewis of Tyne-------, Gent., Trustees and Overseers of his last will and testament.
