Abstract of the Will of The Reverend Robert Morris of Garthmaelan in the Parish of Dolgellau in the County of Merioneth, Clerk, written 13 Oct 1821, proved 12 Feb 1822.

Gives and devises to Sir Robert Williams Vaughan of Nannau, Baronet, and Rev. Robert Jones, Rector of Derwen in county Denbigh, all his messuages, tenements or lands and hereditaments called Gelli Iago, Hendrefechan, Cerneddi and Gelli wastad in the hamlet of Nantmor in the Parish of Beddgelert in county Merioneth upon Trust, to the use of of his wife Jane for the term of her natural life in lieu of all dower which she may have claim to out of his real estate; and after her decease to the use of Richard Griffith Jones of Pwllheli in county Carnarvon, surgeon and apothecary, and the Rev. Robert Phillips, Rector of Llanycil in county Merioneth, in Trust for and to the use of his first and every other son born of himself and his wife Jane; and in default of such issue, to the use of his first and every other daughter.

Gives and bequeaths all his personal estate and effects to his eldest son and all his younger children to be equally divided among them.

Wills that if his wife Jane should marry again, then her guardianship [of their children] shall cease and the responsibility shall devolve to the said Richard Griffith Jones and Robert Phillips.

Nominates, constitutes and appoints his said wife Jane and the said Richard Griffith Jones and Robert Phillips executors of his last will and testament.

On 17 Jan 1822 an inventory of the goods and chattels of the late Reverend Robert Morris of Garthmaelan in the Parish of Dolgelley was taken by Prichard William, farmer, and Edward Evans, joiner, and valued to £664 5s. 3

(Jane EVANS was born on 13 Apr 1785 in Gerddi-bluog, Llanfair-juxta-Harlech, Merioneth, Wales and was buried on 29 Jul 1822 in Llanfachreth, Merioneth, Wales, aged 37 years.)
