Marvin Clyde Jilbert, 87, of Laurium passed away at his residence late Thursday evening.
Clyde was born on December 1, 1908 in Laurium a son of the late Edward and Esther Jilbert. At an early age he moved to the Detroit area where he attended school. He attended the University of Detroit and later graduated from Lawrence Tech, receiving a degree in Metallurgy Engineering. He had worked for Kelsey Hayes Wheel in Romulus, Mich. as a chemist retiring in 1970.
He served with the US Army during WW II as a Lieutenant with Army Ordinance.
He returned to Laurium after his retirement and was married to the former Sara Backstrom in September of 1974
Clyde was taught by his parents the virtues of being polite, honest and considerate of others and he was a man who lived these virtues through out his life and passed it on to his family and people he met.
He is survived by
