Arthur T. JAMES

"JONESDALE - Arthur T. James, age 81 of Jonesdale, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005, at Bloomfield Manor Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Feb. 24, 1924, the son of Jesse and Alice Blanche (Carter) James. He married Joan G. Wiesen on Feb. 3, 1947, in Belmont. They farmed in the Jonesdale area their entire lives. He worked at Oscar Meyer and Jones Dairy Farms for 40 years as a livestock buyer. Art was a fan of all sports. He was an avid bowler, a softball player, coach and umpire, and a big supporter of Mineral Point school athletics. He also served on the school board, fair board, and chamber of commerce. He was involved with 4-H in Jonesdale, Odd Fellows, Mineral Point Lions Club, Jonesdale Sportsman's Club, and the Bethel United Methodist Church. Art also ushered at UW Wisconsin football games for several years. His favorite times were playing cards with his family on Sunday nights and enjoying the outdoors hunting and fishing. He is survived by two sons, Richard (Mary) James of Jonesdale and Brian (Susan) James of Mineral Point; a daughter, Janet (Amanda) James of Buffalo, Minn.; eight grandchildren, Denise (special friend Aric Douglas), Eric (Jill), Mike (Megan), Danielle, Dakota, Brant, Ethan and Sira James; a great-granddaughter, Lauren James; a daughter-in-law, Mary (Jerry) Fletcher of Mineral Point; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joan G. James on Feb. 27, 2000; a son, Alan C. James on Oct. 7, 1995; infant twins, Marvin and Marsha; and two brothers, Norbert and Harry James...." ³
