In 1631 Richard Parsons was a beneficiary of his father's Will, receiving seven kyne and one hayrick, one red hogg, two flytches of bacon, and one half of his pewter, brass, bed linen, and other items.

Abstract of the Will of Richard Parsons of Thornehill in the Parish of Cleve Pepper in the County of Wiltes, Yeoman, written 4 Apr 1645, proved 3 Jun 1647. 4

To be buried in the churchyard of the parish of Cleve Pepper [Clyffe Pypard].

Gives 20 shillings to the poor people of the said parish.

Gives 20 shillings to the poor people of the parish of Wootton Bassett.

Makes Jane his wife sole executrix of his last will and testament.

Entreats his brethren John Parsons and John Greenaway to be overseers of his last will and testament, giving them 20 shillings each for their pains.
