"TEMBY.On November 23 at his residence, Cornhill road, Victor Harbor, John Temby, aged 76 years. Beloved husband of Grace J. Temby and loving father of Carrie, Muriel, Harvey, and Hedley."

" Mr. John Temby, of Victor Harbour, died at the age of 76. He was born at Cambourne [sic]*, Cornwall, and came to Australia in the ship Arburston in 1882 with his wife, the trip being a honeymoon one. He spent some years in the Mount Gambier district, and went to Victor Harbour in 1911. He purchased a grocery and drapery business, which he carried on for many years before retiring. He was associated with various affairs of the town, having been treasurer of the Newland Memorial Church and an officer in the Rechabite movement. The Bowling Club loses one of its most popular members. He leaves a widow, wo daughters, and two sons."
