The Chronicon of Bernold records the death in 1044 of "Gozzilo dux Lotharingorum". The necrology of Lüneburg records the death "19 Apr" of "Gozlinus dux". Heinrich III King of Germany regranted "comitatum…in Thrente" to the bishop of Utrecht by charter dated 22 May 1046, which specifies that the grant was made "post obitum Gozlini ducis nostre". 1
