"The son of Howard & Esther (Erion) Guenther, he was born in Hartley, Iowa and graduated from Ocheydan High school with the Class of "41". Ferris married Joan Janice Malmquist on June 17, 1948 at Rushmore, Minnesota. They moved to Elkhart, Ks in 1960, and he farmed for several years, retiring in 1993 after 29 years with Bultman's in Elkhart, where he delivered propane.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Earl Guenther and a sister, Ferne Taylor.
Survivors include his wife of the home, two sons, two daughters, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tues., July 19, 2005 at the First Lutheran Church in Elkhart. Interment followed in the Elkhart Cemetery."
