Albert II, comte de Namur

  • Married:
  • Died: Jul 1064

  Research Notes:

The Genealogica comitum Buloniensium records that "Ermengardis" was mother of "Albertum comitem de Namuco".

He succeeded his brother as ALBERT II Comte de Namur. He founded Saint-Aubain at Namur, as shown by the Fundatio Ecclesiæ S Albani Namucensis which records "comes Albertus secundus, ortus ex patre Lothariensi, matre vero Francigena Ermengarde, nobilissimam Francorum regum prosapiam trahente" as founder of the church.

The Gesta Episcoporum Leodiensium records "bellum apud Rivoniam" in 1048 where "Albertus Namucensis" was killed by "Godefrido duce". 1

  Marriage Information:

Albert married Regilinde de Lorraine, daughter of Gozelon I de Lorraine, comte de Verdun. (Regilindis de Lorraine died after 1064.)
