In 1841 Thomas Butson, aged about 45, born in the county, copper miner, and wife Elizabeth, aged about 50, were living in Goonvrea, St. Agnes Cornwall. With them were children William (20), copper miner, and Jane (15).

Gives and bequeaths 4 shillings a week to his wife for the rest of her life, to be paid out of the Goonown estate. Also gives to her all his household furniture and a dwelling house currently occupied by Henry Ely.
Gives and bequeaths to his daughter Jane his two closes of a field called the Ten Acres or Lower Croft, along with one half of his mineral rights in the Goonown estate.
All the rest of his lands, goods, chattels and effects he gives and bequeaths to his son William whom he makes sole executor of his last will.
