Seigneur Childebrand III DE PERRACY, Comte du Autunois

  • Born: Between 770 and 775, Perrancey, Haute-Marne, Champagne, France
  • Married: Abt 799

  Research Notes:

Fredelus advocatus Hildebrandi comitis” claimed a serf “Adalardo...de villa Patriciaco...de beneficio Hildebrando”, at the court of “Theodericus comes in Crounaco villa”, by charter dated Mar 818, judgment in his favour dated Oct 819. A document of Emperor Louis I issued from Ingelheim and dated Oct 826 deals, among other business, with a claim by "Hildebrandi comitis". The Vita Hludowici Imperatoris names "Elisachar abbatem et Hildebrandum comitem necnon et Donatum" as imperial missi in Spain [in 827]. Einhard's Annales name "Helisachar presbiterum et abbatum et…Hildebrandum atque Donatum comites" as imperial missi to Spain in 827. Settipani highlights that the testament of Ekkehard, son of Childebrand [III], refers to the villa of Perrecy in the Autunois inherited from Childebrand [I], father of Nibelung [I], which suggests a direct descent.“Childebramnus comes”, on his deathbed, donated property “in...vicaria Ysodro in fieffum habere et de genitore meo Dibilungo comite quondam” to Saint-Pierre-d’Izeure, for the souls of “meæ et...conjugis Nomanne atque in eleemosyna Eraldi, Frideluni, Teuderici filiorum germani fratris mei Tetberti”, by charter dated 29 Mar “indict. x anno imperii domni Hludovici Augusti” [=817 or 832], signed by “Childebrannus comes, Arnulfi, Eraldi qui consensit, Ingelmari, Frideluni qui consensit, Donnane, Teudrici qui consensit”. 1
