The genealogy of the Comtes de Mâcon, included in the cartulary of Saint-Vincent de Mâcon, names "Albericus filius Letaudi comitis". "Letaudus comes et uxor mea Berta" donated property to Saint-Vincent-de-Mâcon for the souls of "patris mei Alberici…et matris mee Tolane…Irmengardis quondam uxoris sue" by charter dated to [941] subscribed by "Alberici filii sui". "Albericus" is named as son of Letaud in the latter's donations to Cluny dated 948 and [955]. "Albericus Matisconensis comes" names "Letaudi patris mei…[et] Ermengardis matris mee" in his donation of "ecclesiæ sancti Germani Ipgiacensis" to Cluny by charter dated Jan 962.
He succeeded his father as Comte de Mâcon. "Albericus comes" donated property "in pago Matisconensi in villa…Lancus", which came to him from "Iohanne episcopo cum sorore sua Rotrude", to the abbey of Tournus by charter dated 14 Jan 971, signed by "Leotaldi, Alberici, Ermentrudis coniuge sua…". "Albericus comes" donated property "in pago Matisconensis in villa… Aponiacus" to Cluny by charter dated 14 Jan 971, subscribed by "Ermentrudis coniuge sua, Leotaldi, Umberti, Odoldrici…".
The necrology of Mâcon Cathedral records the death "IV Id Sep" of "Albericus comes", although this entry could alternatively refer to Count Aubry I. 1

Albéric married Ermentrude de Roucy, comtesse de Reims, daughter of Ragenold de Roucy, comte de Reims & Roucy and Alberade von Lothringen, between 1 Mar 966 and 14 Jan 971. (Ermentrude de Roucy was born between 947 and 952 in Reims, Champagne-Ardenne, France and died on 5 Oct 1002/4.)
