"Gaufridus Jauviaci comes" founded the priory of Notre-Dame de Joigny, with the consent of "uxore mea et liberis Gaufredo atque Rainaldo", by charter dated 1080. "Letericus, Margaudi filius" donated property to the priory of Notre-Dame de Joigny by charter dated to [1082/85], confirmed by "Rainardus Gaufridi filius comitis".
Comte de Joigny. William of Tyre records that he joined the First Crusade in 1096. 1
